Sangamon Valley RC Flyers radio control airplane club is located at Holmes Field south of Lake Springfield.  We are a sanctioned Academy of Model Aeronautics club with about 50 members. Club meetings are on the 1st Thursday of the month. Spring, summer and early fall meetings are held at Holmes Field. Late fall and winter meetings are held at the Rochester Christian Church.

Club dues are low and there is no initiation fee. Spectators are always welcome.  There is a good chance you will find someone at the field if the weather is nice.  Come on in if the gate is open but be careful. Holmes Field is an active airport and heliport.  Please be observant and look for aircraft taking off or landing before driving along the edge of the airstrip.

SVRC Flyer members are needed to help with the LLCC Try It Class at Lincoln Land Community College's Cass Gym. The event starts at 9:30a and ends at 11:30a.  Club members are requested to be at the gym about 9:00a to help setup.  There will be open flying before and after the class until we get kicked out.

The Academy of Model Aeronautics recently awarded the Sangamon Valley RC Flyers a $1000 Take Off and Grow Grant. The money will be used to support three upcoming events; LLCC / SVRC Try-It class, SVRC Mini Ground School and the Open House / Autism Fly - In. Check out the EVENTS page for more information.
